High Five for Friday

TGIF everybody!

This week flew by and as usual I am welcoming the weekend with open arms. Tomorrow I have plans to meet my friend Krista for yoga and hopefully coffee afterwards and that is absolutely it! The feeling of having an open schedule for the next two days feels freakin' fantastic!!!

I'm hoping I'll find some time to tinker around in my garden, start on the vision board I've been talking about for months, perhaps try my very first vlog (?!), do a little meal planning and hopefully squeeze in a little snuggle time with my sweeties!

Derek hates having no plans (opposites definitely attract in our case!), so I can see that there may be an impromptu barbecue or bonfire in the works as well, which works for me on this last weekend of July --- crazy, right?!

Do you have anything exciting planned for the weekend?

To start this weekend off right, I'm going to share my five faves of the week.

My Garden!!! I love, love, love seeing everything grow and change from day to day!
We had a great rain Wednesday night and Thursday, so I am really excited to see the changes this week!

This was posted on the Fitfluential Facebook page yesterday. I <3 it!

Perfect workout for a gorgeous day that can be done in your own backyard or at a local park.
(I've done Booty Camp before ~ it's a challenging, boo-tay kicking workout!)

One of the keywords searched that attracted the most traffic to my blog this week was...

"Channing Tatum naked"  what?! ....LOL

This totally cracked me up. I recently talked about the movie Magic Mike, which is how this must have come about, but sadly you won't find any naked pics on this here site!
I think some people might have been disappointed haha!

High Five for Friday

Happy Friday! We made it through this super hot week and not only is there a weekend ahead, but the weather Gods are also calling for a break in this crazy humidity! Thank freakin' goodness - I am dying for a couple of frizz-free hair days :-)

After a crazy week away, I finally am starting to feel like I'm back in the groove of my normal routine, so I thought it'd be a good week to share some highlights that have made me smile. Thanks to Lauren for hosting this weekly link up par-tay of all things fabulous.

1. There were a couple of days this week when this was totally me.

Photo
This was posted by one of my Facebook friends and I don't know where she found it, so unfortunately I'm not able to reference for you. If you happen to know, please let me know so I can give credit :)

2. The weather this week was perfect beer drinkin' weather, but instead I made myself the most fabulous strawberry lime spritzer. Too.Die.For. (and much better for the waistline)

3. Speaking of waistlines, I've been heading to the gym early every morning this week. My main reason is because I'd rather get ready for work there instead of at home where I'm sweating my make up off as fast I'm applying it. I tried this workout by Courtney yesterday. It made my bum muscles burn ... which is a good thing considering all the shorts and swimsuits I'll be sporting over the next several weeks.
Check out this link for more of Courtney's workout routines
- I've really like her treadmill routines!

4. I really need a new swimsuit and I want something a little different this year.
I am in LOVE with this.

5. Now that I've started pulling out all of my shorts & summer wear, I've noticed I'm looking just a little bit pasty. I just got this bronzer from Mark and I am in love.
It gives a perfectly subtle glow.

So there's some of my 'happy' things from the week,

What's made you smile?

Have a great day,

TGIF

Just Another Pin-tastic Sunday

Happy Sunday! So how has your weekend been so far? Yesterday was a busy day because I went to work in the morning to do some catch up and then Derek and I went for an early anniversary dinner in the evening. I had lots of things I wanted to do today, but most of it didn't happen. Instead, I indulged in my Pinterest obsession while watching movies. We all need days of indulgence don't we?!

I had plans to post a recipe today, but last week I saw a post by Angela that was dedicated to Pinterest and since that pretty much sums up my day, I thought I'd share a little "Pinning" love myself. If you are as addicted to Pinterest as I am and you want to check out more things that I've pinned, click here to find me.

Here are some of my favourite pins.

Talk about indulgences :-D I'm going to visit my family next week and I hear there's a sleepover with my neice and nephew being planned. I'm thinking this Popcorn Cake is going to be a winner with a certain 3 year old and 9 year old.

I could not have said this better myself. With my anniversary coming up next week, I thought this was perfect.

soooo sweet...and soooo true.

Derek and I have started planning our annual Christmas shindig and I love this creative twist on a veggie tray.

And speaking of Christmas, this is definitely on my wish list. Name necklaces make me think Sex and the City! I've wanted one for years (ever since Carrie had one on SATC!!!) and now it's in Derek's inbox as a Christmas "idea" for me ;-)

It's safe to say that I'm not known for my craftiness, but Pinterest has really motivated me to try a few things. This DIY scarf is too die for and it is so incredibly easy (at least I hope!)

Lots of Lovin' Wednesday - Birthday Edition

So usually you would get to see a 'day in the life of my eats' on Wednesday, but I've been a little bit lazy in the cooking department and really didn't have any phenomenal foodie adventures to share with you. I promise that my next WIAW post will come after my trip to Tennessee and Kentucky over the Thanksgiving Weekend because from what I hear, our eats are going to be amazing. My dad is the best holiday meal maker on the planet!

Snce we're skipping the eats today, I thought I'd share some of the things that I've been lovin' since we got home from our Vegas vacation. My 34th Birthday was on November 6th, so I thought it was appropriate to share some of my fave birthday things.

My birthday fell on a Sunday and when I arrived at work on the following Monday, these were on my desk. I am loving these gorgeous flowers (which are still alive and well on my kitchen table!) and the boss who bought them for me. I'm a pretty lucky gal!

I also received a some pretty cool gifts.
My grandma gave me this gorgeous turquoise necklace. Ever since I got it, I've been trying to plan my outfits around it, so that I can wear it every single day :-D

Yesterday, I got a package from my mom in the mail. Included were these 2 Vera Bradley makeup bags.

I. LOVE. VERA. BRADLEY.

I've never seen her products in Canada, but I see them everywhere around my parents and I love them!

And finally, Derek gave me some American moula. I love money and I love shopping, so this was the perfect gift to give a girl who's planning some serious retail therapy on Black Friday.

So there you have it. I had a pretty rockin' birthday and I was spoiled, as always.

What is a gift that you've recently received that you absolutely love?
I need some inspiration, so tell me what your best eats were this week.

Enjoy your Wednesday!

Andrea
