About

Hi! My name is Andrea.

Andrea Bloomfield

My husband and I live in a rural community in Southwestern Ontario with our 2 rottweilers:
Dora & Hank. They are the loves of our life and our sweet little, not so little, fur babies.

Hank aka "the tank"

I'm 36 and am loving my 30s so far!! I know who I am and really love the person that I've become. My 20s was a flurry of insecurities and I was just winging it most of the time!! By day I am a law clerk and spend most of my time in an office environment sitting at a computer, so when my workday is done you can find me in my cozy country corner of the world drinking wine on our amazing new front porch or playing fetch with the dogs out back. In a perfect world, I would own my own natural nutrition counselling business and you'll find the whole "own my own business" idea in my 40 before 40 list of goals. I love my family (furbabes included), our friends, summers at the lake and food. I've also recently become hooked on yoga, which is quickly becoming yet another passion of mine.

I am a lover of all animals, er almost all animals ----I don't LOVE snakes, rats, frogs or worms (in fact they make me squirm just thinkin' about them), however I do believe that all living creatures have the right to be treated with dignity and respect and that is the original reason behind why I decided to eliminate meat and most other animal products from my diet. I do not want to be responsible for the pain and suffering that so many animals are subjected to at the hands of human beings. I decided to become a vegetarian back in March of 2010. My husband is a carnivore in the extreme and we try to be conscious consumers by supporting local, conscientious farmers when purchasing meat. Sometimes I feel like I'm cooking 10 different dishes for any given meal to please both of our palates, however as time as gone on, I have definitely improved in making one meal with minor variations that works for us both.

I want to share my zest and passion for life with you and to take you along on my journey to the good life through healthy food, fitness and positive attitude!!

I originally started this blog with the intention of focusing on great food and new healthy recipes, but things have changed over the past couple of years. I've come to the realization that while healthy eats & fitness are key components to living  a healthy lifestyle, nourishing ours minds is also so very, very important. I've made some changes to the blog to better encompass all of the things I love and I'm hoping to share tidbits of everything with you. I'm still going to focus a lot of my time & energy on  food, but I'm also going to share some other things that bring me joy like favourite workouts, DIY projects we've been working on since our house went through a major overhaul, dog treats because they deserve healthy eats too, stories of our adventures and my thoughts on all things joyful and totally random :)

If you're an old friend who's glad to see me back, I'm so glad you've stuck it out and waited for me and if you're new welcome welcome welcome!! I'm excited for the new and improved Vegvacious and I really hope you love it as much as I do!

I am so excited to share this journey with you and I hope that you join me on the mission to the good life; whatever that means for you.

Wishing you love, happiness and prosperity.

xoxo
