Chocolate Banana Frostee

I noticed something very exciting happening in my flowerbed yesterday....check it out!

See the little sprouts of green starting to poke their way up?

I was so happy when I caught a glimpse of this first sign of Spring, I had to control myself from doing a little happy dance right there on my doorstep.

...and then I woke up this morning.

What kind of cruel joke are you trying to pull Mother Nature?? I am not impressed.

I guess we better drown our sorrows in something sweet and uplifting.
Do you remember the Wendy's Frosty?
They were the best.

Did you drink your frosty with a straw or eat it with a spoon? My friend Krista and I were stubborn, strong-willed girls who insisted on drinking it through a straw, which was no easy task. Today I am a greedy, impatient girl; I want the goods & I want them now....I quickly get to work with a spoon and have my frosty devoured in a matter of minutes resulting in the most excruciatiung ice cream headache ever!!

I never learn :-)

You are going to love me when I show you my "healthy" chocolate banana frostee. It's cold and refreshing, it's so delicious and it takes 2 minutes to make with only 3 ingredients ~ you're starting to love me already aren't ya?

Chocolate Banana Frostee
1 large or 1.5 small bananas, cut into chunks and frozen
1 1/4 c almond milk (or your choice of milk)
2 tbsp cocoa

Place all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.

Pour into glass and enjoy!

...a spoon is perfectly acceptable in my world

Now that  really was easy!!

This smoothie is so smooth and delicious, you'd swear it was full of ice cream and sugar, but it isn't and it tastes just as good or better. Almond milk is a fabulous milk alternative. I typically use Almond Breeze unsweetened original. There is only 40 calories and 3 grams of fat in one cup. Seriously...it's almost too good to be true!!

So there you have it. An easy and delicious treat that you can whip up for the entire family in no time at all. I think after a long, hard week we all deserve a bit of sinful deliciousness in our lives, don't you agree??

TGIF - have a wonderful Friday (& stay warm if you're somewhere that the snow's aflyin')!!
