Potted Herb Garden

Happy Tuesday! Sadly, all good things must come to an end and all of us who enjoyed a long weekend are now back to the daily grind. Luckily for me, I only have to work a couple of days and then I'm off again for a mini-vacation to see my family. I can't wait & I hope these days go really fast!

I can't believe it but yesterday I posted my 100th post. Time has flown by since I started my blog and I just wanted to say thank you so much to all of my bloggie friends who follow me, who support me and who make me smile on a daily basis by the comments you leave and the amazing posts you share on your own sites. I have changed since starting the blog. Instead of just living life and passing through each day in a monotonous routine, I have really opened my eyes and started to SEE the things around me. I see everything in a more positive way and am always looking for the joy and humour in the small things. Dare I say I'm evolving into the person I've been longing to be? I think I am officially on the right path in my journey to the "good" life and alot of that has to do with YOU - so again, Thank You!

You guys are the absolute BEST!
We were very fortunate to have beautiful weather for most of our long weekend. Rain and storms were in the forecast for a good part of the weekend, but most of that surpassed our area. I wanted to take advantage of the gorgeous weather and spend time outside doing some things I'd been putting off because of all the rain we'd been having.

The first thing I wanted to do was set myself up with an herb garden. We have a large property with a pretty big backyard, but we also have 2 big rottis who think the yard is their playground. We've talked about having a garden over the years, but we just don't have any easy way to block it off from being trampled, peed on and pulled out. So this year, I decided I was going to come up with some cute and easy way to grow at least some herbs.

On Sunday, I went and picked up some herbs, some potting soil and a bunch of cute little pots from the dollar store. In total I spent under $25 and I now have 8 pots of herbs sunning themselves on my deck.

Aren't these pots adorable? My fave is the little cow - too cute!!

I planted:

- rosemary
- basil
- oregano
- curly parsley
- stevia
- mint (Mojitos are on the menu this summer my friends!)
- sage
- chives

Hopefully with a little luck, my sweet little plants will flourish and we'll have fresh herbs to enjoy all summer long. I'll make sure to keep you updated as the weeks fly by.

Do you plant a garden at your house?
What is your favourite herb to have fresh?

Have a great day!!

Andrea

  2. Congrats on 100 posts! I love fresh herbs. I have a little stairway basket on my porch right outside of my kitchen that I plant herbs in. I love just going out and picking what I need!

  4. I planted my herbs about two weeks ago--most of which were the same ones you planted! I get so excited to go out and watch their progress. I know I must be getting old when I get stoked to watch basil grow!

  9. I was actually excited enough to drop a thought :-P I actually do have a couple of questions for you
if it’s allright. Could it be only me or does it look as if like a few of the remarks come across as if they
are left by brain dead folks? And, if you are posting on additional sites,
I would like to follow anything new you have to post.
Could you list the complete urls of your shared pages like your twitter feed, Facebook page or linkedin profile?
